Solvers are given a number of catalog-style pictures of the houses' walls, but with no indication of which walls go to which house. They are also given a set of HOA Minutes, which includes a diagram showing the layout of each house, a map of the town, and various instructions; e.g., that a house may not contain two copies of the same piece of art.
- Step 1 is to realize that the "Inspirational mottos" in the wall art are the morals to various Aesop Fables. The number on each poster is the corresponding fable's Perry Index number, to resolve ambiguity. Each fable's title contains at least two animal names, e.g., "The Fox and the Crow." So the wall with that fable's moral on it belongs in either the Fox's house or the Crow's house.
- Step 2 is to use logic to assemble each house. The corner tables and vases help with this process.
- Step 3 is to use the number of Decorative Wicker Balls in each assembled house as an index into the name of the animal who owns it. This yields the message "BLOW DOWN RED". This is shown in the table below.
- Step 4: With the knowledge that the Big Bad Wolf blew down every red wall, remove the red brick walls. The remaining walls form a pigpen cipher (a "disco ball" = house with a dot), to spell the puzzle answer TWIN STONES. This is represented by the two figures at the bottom of the page.
