Dropypasta

The first step is to solve the dropquotes, which turn out to be copypastas related to Super Smash Bros Melee. It turns out that there is an extra letter in each row which is not listed in the letter bank of its column. These 26 missing letters are all unique, giving an association from each letter of the alphabet to a Melee character. The solved dropquotes are shown below:

The next step is to complete the brackets. There are six stages, each of which compares characters by a certain criterion. The example battles are between characters who are ranked the highest and the lowest in the respective criterion. These are the criteria:

Battlefield: the character whose corresponding letter (as determined above) comes first alphabetically

Dream Land: the character whose original video game came out earlier

Final Destination: the higher tier character according to the current tier list as of January 2023

Fountain of Dreams: the character who takes less inhale damage from Kirby

Pokemon Stadium: the character closer to a Pokemon on the character select screen

Yoshi's Story: the heavier character by weight
