Solution to Unmasked
by Mark, CJ Quines
It's a Worm puzzle!
Solvers who have read Worm before should be able to quickly identify that the title and flavortext clue Worm. Otherwise, the word "worming" combined with "Leviathan" or some of the text clue answers (e.g. HOOKWOLF) should direct the solver's attention to the moderately popular webnovel.
The text clues clue (and are sorted by) the "cape names" of characters in Worm. However, the enumerations are given not for their cape names, but for their civilian first names. The enumerations from the text clues match the enumerations in the grid, suggesting that the civilian first names should be used when filling the grid. This step is clued by the title, since solvers are, in a sense, "unmasking" the characters (a phrase heavily used in the webnovel) to reveal their true identities before putting them in the grid.
The last step is clued by the flavortext: "When facing a crisis of Leviathan proportions, all that matters is that you make it out alive." All the characters used in the puzzle participated in the battle against the Leviathan, a key plot point in Worm. Additionally, the flavortext "I don't care if you're good or bad" suggests that their alignment (hero or villain) is irrelevant. Dropping the characters who died in that battle and keeping the characters who survived gives a reduced grid whose intersections read "DAVID". In Worm, David is the civilian first name of the character who goes by the cape name EIDOLON.
