Fill in the middle letter in each row to spell a word. In this case, the words can skip letters, and are all musical instruments. The rows are given in alphabetical order by instrument, and the filled-in letters run A-Z.

Sort the rows by the filled-in center column. The last column now spells out STRINGS WOODWINDS DRUMS HORNS. The solver will find that the names of string instruments skip the first column, the names of woodwinds skip the second column, etc. Reading down the first four columns, looking only at the rows containing instruments in the appropriate group, yields SUDDEN NOTE EMPHASIS NOTATION, which clues the final answer SFORZANDO.
